All workshops will meet weekly for an hour and will cost $25 a session. Exact scheduling will be set once enrollment is completed.

Music Theory – Led by Mari Rosa

This is a great opportunity for new and current MMM students to further your understanding and enjoyment of the music you play and sing. Geared toward middle school and high school students, Music Theory will develop each student’s ability to recognize, understand, and describe the music that you are hearing and playing, with an emphasis on musicianship skills. We will work on your conceptual, listening, and notational skills, to improve how you approach, understand, and talk about your music. If you want to know more about music theory so you can feel confident in AP Music Theory, or if you want to be able to speak with a musician today in our language, then this course is right for you.

Group Singing/Group Voice – Led By Mari Rosa

If you can carry a tune and enjoy singing, but aren’t sure just where to go from there, this is your class. Designed for students who want to improve and develop their singing talents, this class is suitable for new beginners and for students with limited exposure to singing lessons and technique. Come learn better breath control, build vocal power, produce a pleasing tone, stretch your range, and sing without tension. Learn the fundamentals of singing, including methods of warm up, clear singing pronunciation, and terminology. Students will practice singing songs throughout the course. Limited to 7 students, ages 12 and older. 

Vocal Performance – Led By Mari Rosa

Creating a healthy, beautiful sound is only part of the picture for singers today. Why? Because people hear with their eyes too! Research indicates that listeners gather 60-70% of their information from body language.This fact impacts the role of the singer more than anyone else in a band.

In this class we will tackle your stage presence. At the end of the term, you can expect move with authority while you perform, and increase your enjoyment on stage. You will build confidence, become a better public presenter, and be ready to be the star of the show. Limited to 8 students, ages 12 and older.
