Brian MacDougall – Drums

Brian is a dynamic drummer, singer and producer of many styles of music.  He has studied drums since the age of 9 with great performers and teachers such as Ian Froeman, Ed Uribe, Casey Shuerruell, Allan Hall, Larry Finn, Floyd Williams, Giovanni Hildago and Nancy Zeltzman.  He is a graduate of the Berklee College of Music and holds a Bachelors of Music in Arranging and Performance.

Brian’s teaching philosophy is rooted in patience and the understanding that all students are different and are inspired in different ways.  Through the setting of musical goals, we hope to reach a place of euphoric creativity, allowing the student’s ability to soar beyond their wildest imagination.  This teaches them self-esteem, discipline and dedication to whatever they’re trying to achieve now and for the rest of their lives.  Brian works confidently with each student, personalizing each effort to realize the student’s best potential.  All of this focus will be applied to genres of music such as rock, jazz, latin, blues, world and more!

Brian has worked as a drummer in theater and marching percussion ensembles.  He has taught master clinics for the drum set.  He currently performs with Picante Soul, a latin dance band from the north of Boston, and Jetta, an R&B singer- songwriter.  Brian also produced Jetta’s album, “Jetta”.

He is currently working on his first book and DVD entitled “The Coaching Approach” for Beat Creature Media.
