Ever want to join a band?

 

MMM runs a band program with a full rehearsal room equipped with a vocal PA, organ, piano, drum set, guitars, bass, and several amplifiers.

 

Russell Chudnofsky (guitarist with Warner Brothers recording artist Lori McKenna, among many others) currently runs the program. He sets up bands that rehearse for an hour on Saturdays for 6-8 week semesters. Russell instructs the bands at each rehearsal giving his advice and sharing his expertise. At the end of the session the participants will also have the opportunity to perform live.

 

Band sizes have ranged from the small power trio to a larger 7 piece. Songwriters have also participated and had their bands learn their original songs. All instruments, styles, and levels or playing are welcome so the  possibilities are endless. No potential participant should be hesitant to inquire and if we can create a group that makes sense we will.

For beginners/young players  it is required that all are taking private lessons because if you are in a band  have an extra responsibility to your band mates to be able to learn all your parts quickly and well.  A teacher is almost always crucial in this endeavor. Band participants are not required to take their private lessons at MMM however…all are welcome!

3) A description of your current level of playing
4) What your musical tastes are
5) Are there are any other specific players you would like to be grouped with?
6) Your availability on Saturdays
First session for 2011 school year will begin in October and exact scheduling will be determined after enrolment is completed. 6 week semesters cost $150, 7 week $175 and 8 week $200. There are no refunds for missed rehearsals. Payment is due before or at the first rehearsal. Attendance is required for the final performance.
